To assemble the sandwich
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Low Carb hamburger bun | 1, approx. 80 g |
| Pachino cherry tomatoes | 50 g |
| Fresh sprouts | 20 g |
| Homemade mayonnaise | 10 g |
Preparation
1. Prepare the tuna mixtureBlend the crustless Low Carb sandwich bread until you get fine crumbs. In a bowl, combine the well-drained tuna, bread crumbs, chopped spring onion, parsley, egg, and rustic mustard. Add a little salt and black pepper, then mix until the mixture is homogeneous and moldable. If the mixture is too soft, let it rest in the refrigerator for 5 minutes before forming the burger. 2. Form and cook the tuna burgerWith slightly damp hands, form a compact burger, roughly the size of the bun. Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick pan. Cook the tuna burger over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side, turning it gently. The burger should be golden on the outside and firm, but not dry. |

3. Prepare the fresh ingredients
Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half or into thin slices.
In a small bowl, toss the sprouts with the homemade mayonnaise, mixing gently.
Do not use too much mayonnaise: it should bind the sprouts, not mask the flavor of the tuna.
4. Heat the bun
Cut the Low Carb hamburger bun in half.
Toast it on a hot griddle or in a non-stick pan for 2-3 minutes, with the cut side facing down.
This step is important because it makes the bun more fragrant and improves the structure of the filling.
5. Assemble the sandwich
Place the cherry tomatoes on the base of the bun.
Add the warm tuna burger.
Top with the sprouts mixed with mayonnaise.
Close with the top of the bun and serve immediately.
Serving suggestion
This sandwich is best served warm, with the hot burger and fresh vegetables.
For a bolder flavor, you can add a little grated lemon zest to the tuna mixture or a pinch of sweet paprika to the mayonnaise.
