How to prepare Low Carb Tempestine with Carne Asada
1. Season the meat
Season the beef with olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
2. Prepare the avocado cream
Blend or mash the avocado with:
- lime juice;
- a little jalapeño;
- salt;
- pepper;
- a little cold water, only if needed.
You should obtain a thick but soft cream.
3. Cook the meat
Heat a grill pan or frying pan very well.
Cook the beef for 2-3 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
Let the meat rest for 3 minutes, then slice it thinly.
4. Cook the Tempestine
Cook the Low Carb Tempestine in plenty of salted water for 8 minutes.
Drain well and season with a little extra virgin olive oil.
5. Assemble the dish
Place the Tempestine at the base.
Add the avocado cream, sliced meat, and a little fresh cilantro.
Finish with a few drops of lime.
Low carb considerations
Do not add corn, beans, tortillas, nachos, or sweet Mexican sauces.
Avocado is consistent with low carb, but should be used in controlled quantities because it is very rich.
Always check ready-made spice mixes: some may contain sugar or starches.
Why it works
It's a very different recipe from classic pasta salads.
The avocado cream binds the Tempestine, the meat gives structure, and the jalapeño brings a fresh and spicy note.
